Speaking to Doctors / Specialists about Homeopathy
In England 42% of doctors actually refer their clients to homeopathic care, and homeopathy is covered under their NHS (Australia's Medicare equivilent). The Queen of England uses homeopathy, which seems to keeping her well into old age, as well as the entire Royal Family having used Homeopathy for 3 generations.
Unfortunately in Australia Homeopathy doesn't have the same standing within the medical community so if you decide to talk to your doctor / specialist about homeopathy, rather than asking 'Should I try homeopathy?', it may be better to ask 'Will homeopathy interfere with your treatment?'. |
History of Homeopathy
Homeopathy was developed by Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) and it's popularity peaked during the epidemics of the nineteenth century. Homoeopathy had great success in the treatment of diseases such as typhoid, typhus, cholera and scarlet fever which made it famous world-wide. The popularity of homeopathy remains, due to it's effectiveness, especially in Europe, USA, UK and India. Homeopathy is even included in the national health systems (Australia's Medicare equivilent) of England, France, the Netherlands, Chile, Brazil, India, Mexico and Pakistan.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), homeopathy is the 2nd most widely practiced system of medicine in the world. In France all Pharmacists are required to learn about homeopathic remedies, which are sold in all 23,000 pharmacies around the country. Despite resistance from the medical community, homeopathy was originally recognized as a postgraduate medical speciality in England by an act of Parliament. |
